Curriculum vitae

Gabriel Hagen Antunes

Mathematics and Physics graduate

My recent academic work focused on scientific computing, numerical modelling and statistical analysis.

At Grupo Planeta, I built Python collectors and PostgreSQL data workflows for internal cybersecurity reporting. Alongside technical work, I have led electronic-music event teams and coordinated festival artist transport.

Technical projects

45-credit Warwick student research project

LHCb Run 3 Data Analysis

Used supplied LHCb Run 3 collider data to study B0 meson branching fractions under the supervision of Nicole Skidmore at Warwick.

Built and tested invariant-mass models in ROOT and RooFit, using maximum-likelihood and simultaneous fits. Validation included fit status, covariance quality, pull distributions and alternative model configurations.

Stochastic Modelling and Decision Analysis

Modelled infectious-disease dynamics in R using ODEs, maximum-likelihood estimation, Bayesian MCMC and stochastic simulation.

A spatial Foot-and-Mouth Disease project represented approximately 50 farms and compared intervention strategies across 1,000 stochastic simulation realisations.

Numerical PDE Solver in C

Implemented the numerical discretisation, solver workflow, boundary conditions and validation for a kinetic PDE in C.

Used finite differences and stability conditions, with course-provided band-matrix utilities and LAPACK/MKL routines for the linear systems.

Cybersecurity systems and data engineering project

Built Python collectors and supporting utilities for multiple cybersecurity and inventory sources, integrating API, database and spreadsheet data into PostgreSQL for internal Power BI reporting.

Implemented table schemas, transformations, batch loading, upserts, relationship tables, logging and execution tracking.

Scheduled recurring jobs with BAT files and Windows Task Scheduler, and built WAF-response, HTTP-header and certificate-expiry checks.

Configured an on-premises Power BI gateway and published an authenticated internal dashboard.

Monument Festival

Artist Transportation Deputy Team Leader (volunteer)

31 July–3 August 2025 · Artist Driver (volunteer)
Transported artists between accommodation, transport hubs and the festival site.

29 July–3 August 2026 · Artist Transportation Deputy Team Leader (volunteer)
Coordinated drivers and six rented vehicles during the festival.

Worked within the hospitality team to coordinate artist-transport schedules, driver assignments and six rented vehicles during the 2026 festival.

Reallocated journeys in response to delays, cancellations, no-shows, driver fatigue and changing vehicle availability, while covering gaps when needed.

Managed vehicle keys, allocation and fuel, approved necessary operational purchases during shifts and escalated a safety concern before an unfit volunteer transported any artist.

Mayhem WWK

President (unpaid; collective currently inactive)

Led annual teams of up to 12 people for an established electronic-music collective run on a not-for-profit, reinvestment basis. The collective is currently inactive while its future is considered.

Oversaw the event cycle from venue negotiations and ticketing through promotion, staff rotas and live delivery.

Approved spending, reimbursed team expenses and reconciled cash and card takings. Managed event budgets of approximately £4,000.

Delivered events attracting hundreds of attendees and used ticket sales and audience response to adjust pricing, promotion and programming.
